  • It's with great sadness that KEXP reports the passing of Aaron Huffman from respiratory failure following a lengthy illness. Not only was Huffman the art director at The Stranger since 2006, but he was the bassist for Harvey Danger and The Weather (formerly Campfire OK). He was 43 years old. KEXP sends our love to all his friends, family, and fans. He will be greatly missed.

  • Ethereal songstress Julianna Barwick will drop her new album Will, her follow up to 2013's Nepenthe, on May 6. Barwick described the recording process as: "moments of isolation and dark currents. I like exploring that, and I love when I come across songs that sound scary or ominous. I’ve always been curious about what goes into making a song that way." Be sure to catch her live at Fremont Abbey Arts Center on May 10.

  • Alex G frolics amongst an autumnal wonderland in the new video for his single "Mud." The self-directed video co-stars the song's guest vocalist, Emily Yacina. Watch the video and Alex G eat a ridiculous amount of leaves, below. [SPIN]

  • LA-based punk trio Bleached have shared a new track called "Sour Candy." It's a dynamic, rebellious anthem that's as addictive as actual sour candy. The track will be featured on their upcoming sophomore album Welcome The Worms (out 4/1). [Stereogum]

  • Eleanor Friedberger pays homage to South By Southwest in her "Never is A Long Time" video. It features footage from past SXSW music festivals, when she was a student at the University of Texas. Friedberger described her inspiration for the video: "These were very formative years for me and watching these scenes, shot in 1996, is a good reminder that I still aspire to make music for my 19-year-old self, not music entirely dictated by computers and commercial interests."
