  • OMG, it's new M.I.A! The eccentric artist shares two tracks on her Soundcloud: the single "MIA OLA," which was originally composed for the Fall 2016 Stella McCartney fashion show, and "Foreign Friend," a banger on issues of immigration. "MIA OLA" features a sample from "Circle of Life" from The Lion King soundtrack, and in her usual rabble-rouser style, M.I.A. is urging everyone to share it out "b 4 Disney shut it down!" Listen below: [Spin]

  • It's a surprising inspiration, but Danish psych-pop band Mew share a track today inspired by "the Hasbro Transformers franchise" that "truly embodies the soul of the Hasbro Transformers brand." No kidding: it's from the compilation Transformers Roll Out, out April 15th via Hasbro Studios and Sony Music RED Associated Labels (RAL). Stream the single "Count To Ten" below, which I'm assuming what Optimus Prime does before he transforms from a truck into a robot? [Stereogum]

  • A band from the '90s collaborates with the supermodel of the '90s: watch Kate Moss in the video for the Massive Attack track "Ritual Spirit," the title track from the band's latest EP and first new release since 2010’s Heligoland. Founding member Robert "3D" Del Naja explains, "Me and Kate have been friends for years, but had never collaborated, so last year we booked a studio with Medium and set up a shoot. During the session Kate was dancing in the dark, lighting herself with a naked bulb. She perfectly captured the essence of this track… intimate and ritualistic. We edited it back in Bristol to keep it raw with no re-touching, I didn’t want to lose the spirit of that moment." [Consequence of Sound]

  • Some guests last night on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert were rudely yawning in the face of musical guest Laurie Anderson, but what can you expect from a pack of dogs? Anderson put on an entire concert just for dogs back in January in Times Square, and she releases her beautiful film Heart of a Dog April 25th on HBO. ("It’s super twee, I know," she admitted to Colbert.) Watch below: [Pitchfork]
