The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame have announced next year's inductees, and the list includes Seattle's own Pearl Jam, along with Tupac Shakur, Journey, Yes, Electric Light Orchestra, and Joan Baez. Nile Rodgers will receive the Award For Musical Excellence.

This year's nominees who didn't make the cut include Depeche Mode, Jane's Addiction, Janet Jackson, the Cars, the Zombies, Bad Brains, Chaka Khan, J. Geils Band, Joe Tex, Kraftwerk, MC5 and Steppenwolf. Artists are eligible for nomination 25 years after the release of their first album or single. Pearl Jam and Tupac Shakur will be inducted on their very first year of being nominated. KEXP wants to point out, this is Kraftwerk's fourth year of being nominated, but not making the final list. FOURTH YEAR. Joe Tex is on his fifth nomination, with J. Geils Band also on their fourth. Yes, on the other hand, are on their third nomination, so it's nice to see the foundation finally said... yeah, sorry.

The induction ceremony will be held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on April 7th, 2017, with an edited version airing on HBO later that month. Congratulations to all of this year's inductees!
