This week, we are featuring Christmas-themed songs selected by Brian Foss, host of Sonic Reducer, KEXP's punk show. Brian has been doing a punk rock Christmas special every year since 2004, and has been a Christmas day on air DJ since 2012. No standards are played, only original songs, most with a humorous bent.

From Super Furry Animals frontman Gruff Rhys' Atheist Xmas EP comes "Post Apocalypse Christmas". This song has nicely dark lyrics, some crunchy T.Rex style guitars and a wonderful melody. Stand out lyric - "we lick our wounds to kill the hunger." Merry Christmas
Gruff Rhys is currently taking the holidays off but has a few shows in the UK in early 2017. While he has no plans to tour the US listed on either his website or Facebook page, you might keep checking those for updates, and look out for any Super Furry Animals action here.
