For the first time ever, First Aid Kit got to perform their hit single "Emmylou" for none other than Emmylou Harris herself, and, not surprisingly, it was an emotional affair. Harris was in Sweden to accept the Polar Music Prize (described as "the Noble Prize of Music"). Klara Söderberg, half of the sibling duo, said, "We never, never thought we'd play this in front of you, Emmylou, it's an incredible honor," before launching into a performance that had Harris wiping away tears. Three is the magic number: Southern-based trio Algiers team up with L.A. trio Liars for this excellent remix of the track "Black Eunuch" off their self-titled album out now on Matador. Under Liars' expertise, the percussion becomes even more pronounced and the gospel choir sounds more amplified. Stunning. Algiers will be LIVE on KEXP on Friday, June 19th, and playing The Sunset later that night. [Stereogum]

Foxygen drummer Shaun Fleming also records under the name Diane Coffee (which I hope is a Twin Peaks reference?), and his sophomore release Everybody’s A Good Dog comes out September 4th on Western Vinyl. Check out the first single "Everyday" below. Diane Coffee opens for Of Montreal at their Saturday, October 31st show at The Neptune. [Consequence of Sound]

UK band Foals have announced they'll return this summer with their fourth full-length, What Went Down, out August 28th via Warner Music. Their follow-up to 2013's Holy Fire was recorded in France with producer James Ford (Florence and the Machine, Arctic Monkeys).
