If you already did your taxes, then you are awesome. If you have yet to tackle them, I’m sorry to remind you that you only have a few days left to get it together. You really don’t want to mess with the IRS. They over 114,000 people strong and I’m sure could do some serious damage with their pocket calculators. If you still need to power through, here are a few song suggestions to help soundtrack all of your itemizing and filing party times...The Beatles - Taxman “Taxman” by The Beatles is probably one of the first songs that comes to mind when people think of tax themed music. I’m sure people spend a lot of time pondering the musical genre that is tax related. This one was one of the earlier Beatles’ songs to be penned by George Harrison. George was inspired after learning that a large bulk of earnings made by The Beatles went directly to the Treasury. What if we all stopped paying taxes? This gem from Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings was released as a single along with their brassy take on Woody Guthrie’s “This Land is Your Land”. Only Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings could make such politically charged messages sound this soulful.
