In a move we can only hope was inspired by KEXP's Six Degrees Day, Afghan Whigs frontman Greg Dulli has covered a song by Sharon Van Etten! Stream his version of "A Crime" below, featuring guest vocals from none other than Ani DiFranco, to add another link to the chain. You can download the track below in exchange for an email address. Dulli has also announced a solo 2016 tour, including a Monday, March 21st stop at The Triple Door in Seattle. [Spin]

Another great pairing offers a new release today: Courtney Barnett and Jack White. The duo teamed up during Barnett's recent visit to Nashville to record a 7" for White's Third Man Records, featuring a new track titled “Boxing Day Blues” (which you can stream below) and a cover of Rowland S. Howard’s "Shivers", which we shared earlier this month. The single, part of the Third Man Blue Series, is out now. [Consequence of Sound]

It's no surprise that Hot Chip were inspired by electro-pop icons New Order, so it's great to hear their remix of the track "Tutti Frutti," off the legendary band's latest full-length Music Complete. The stretched-out single (now 11 minutes long under Hot Chip's direction) appears on New Order's new website, named Singularity, where bands are invited to talk about the influence New Order has had on them. (In fact, Robert Smith of The Cure offers a playlist of his favorite New Order tracks.) [Under the Radar]

To celebrate the release of their third album, VEGA INTL. Night School, Neon Indian share a short film titled Slumlord Rising. The 8-minute clip, directed by founder/frontman Alan Palomo and Tim Nackashi, is a portrait of a night at the disco ripe with intrigue and blood.
