  • Seattle's own Duff McKagan is here to help you start the new year off right. The longtime Guns N' Roses guitarist is releasing the book How To Be A Man (And Other Illusions), a collection of his old Seattle Weekly columns. McKagan explains, "It’s a how-to guide of things I’ve learned about life — being a dad, being a husband and being in a rock band. And it’s, like, a city guide in it, but a very tongue-in-cheek city guide; like, how I see cities. It’s got all kinds of stuff. And other stories. And hopefully it’s gonna be a funny book." How To Be A Man (And Other Illusions) hits stores on May 12th. [Stereogum]
  • Speaking of New Year's Resolutions, Swedish songwriter Jens Lekman has vowed to write one song a week for the rest of 2015. He explains, "While working on my next album, I will sit down once a week, write down my thoughts, turn them into a song and share it with you directly. Think of these little songs as postcards. Little greetings from me to you." Stream the first postcard below: [Under the Radar]

  • Animal Collective’s Noah Lennox (aka Panda Bear) has been teasing tracks from his forthcoming solo album Panda Bear Meets The Grim Reaper. Stream the album's opening track "Sequential Circuits" below, via BBC 6 Music. Lennox also chats with the station about the making of the new album, out January 13th via Domino. [Under the Radar]
