KEXP's DJs piped in with their own Top 12 lists, which we'll be unveiling all month long in anticipation of the countdown.

DJ Chilly's Top 12 Artists Who Released Songs That Make Me Want to Have Deeply Passionate, Loving and Rough-at-the-Right-Times Sex That I Discovered by Listening to DJ Alex in 2014

“Sex and violence, sex and violence. Sex and violence, we just can't take it…” the Boogie Down Productions lyrics over a Booker T sample run through my head. Do I think there’s too much sex in the world? Well, KRS is talking about the lack of intelligence in media and commercial art, and if the question is “Do you think there’s an unhealthy, unrealistic, oppressive version of sex portrayed in the media?” then I say "yes." And there most certainly is too much violence in the world. Violence, hatred, anger: these all stem from fear, and I just can’t take it. We need a little more lovemaking. Each KEXP DJ has their unique taste, style and knowledge, and I constantly learn about a ton of music I never would have found on my own by tuning in to their shows. DJ Alex is one of my favorites, and I often find myself jotting down songs and artists that he plays so I can learn more about them and add them to my listening repertoire. Especially the sultry beats. Sure, there are plenty of other sexy songs from 2014 that I’m digging, and there are plenty of other artists I discovered by listening to Alex, but this list is tracks that fall into both categories. I thought it’d be fun to make a super specific Top 12 list, and would honestly like to encourage some physical relations.

Anyway, make sure and listen to Alex when he’s on-air. His shows are outstanding! (He plays all kinds of different music, not just the sensual stuff.) And while you’re at it, let the fear go, and go on ahead and get down.
