  • Former frontman of The Walkmen, Hamilton Leithauser, may have release an album only a few months ago, but today he's gifted us with a stunning, non-album track called "Room For Forgiveness". It was previously only available as a 7" single on his tour. [Stereogum]

  • The Smashing Pumpkins have shared a new track from their upcoming album, Monuments on Elegy (out on December 9). "Drum + Fife" highlights a lighter, more laid-back side of the Chicago rock band. Listen below. [Pitchfork]

  • Cold War Kids were last night's musical guests on Conan. The band stopped by to preform their most recent single "All This Could Be Yours." They're heading out on tour early next year and will hit Seattle's Showbox at the Market on February 20. [CoS]

  • Today, Mark Kozelek, better known as Sun Kil Moon, released a sprawling song about a dead possum, aptly titled "The Possum." The nearly nine-minute single will be available on December 1. Kozelek also released his own holiday album, Sings Christmas Carols, earlier this month. [Pitchfork]
