It's an unlikely cover, but they make it work: downtempo duo Darkside (electronic producer Nicolas Jaar and guitarist Dave Harrington) take on the 1972 Nick Drake track “Things Behind The Sun,” from his classic Pink Moon album. Last night, Broken Bells, the dance duo of Danger Mouse and James Mercer of The Shins, performed two new tracks on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Their sophomore release After the Disco comes out February 4th on Columbia. [Consequence of Sound]

Math Rock pioneers Slint are reissuing their landmark 1991 album, Spiderland, as a deluxe box set. (Guitarist David Pajo shares a video of it on his Instagram.) This thing is an absolute must-have for Slint fans: it comes with a 104-page book with never-before-seen photos, lyrics, and a foreword by Will Oldham, as well as the DVD Breadcrumb Trail, a 90-minute documentary directed by Lance Bangs. Plus, if you pre-order the box before March 8th, you'll get a t-shirt made from the silkscreen the band used to make their 1989 tour shirt. It'll be available on April 15th via Touch & Go Records. UK band Yuck have shared a new track "Athena," which you can stream below. The band explain via Facebook, "This Christmas instead of staying in and watching TV we got together and recorded a few new songs, the first of which we’re extremely proud to show you right now."
