This Sunday is our annual Father's Day Kids Dance Party -- with DJ sets from Kid Hops and DJ Rhythma, dancing with the Vicious Puppies crew, crafts and more -- but the kids don't get to have all the fun, as there's plenty of great music in clubs this week. On Monday, Portland's Black Prairie play at the Triple Door. Free Energy rocks the Tractor on Tuesday, while New Orleans indie popsters Generationals play there the next night. Also on Wednesday, a stellar lineup of Eleanor Friedberger, The Bats, and TEEN is at Neumos, while the insanely fun They Might Be Giants pack Showbox SoDo. On Thursday, Brooklyn's Parquet Courts, who have on of the best albums of the year so far, are at Neumos with Naomi Punk, while there's some boot stompin' going on at Tractor with Whitey Morgan & The '78s, Denver, and Mike Giacolino. The Friday schedule is packed with Model Rockets and The Riffbrokers at Sunset Tavern, AM & Shawn Lee with Don’t Talk to the Cops and Glitterbang for a danceable show at Chop Suey, Mount Kimbie with Holy Other and Vinyl Williams at Neumos, a political soul/rock extravaganza with The Coup, NighTraiN, and Malitia Malimob at Crocodile, and The Rainieros with Marc Bristol & Okie Dokie and Country Dave & The Pickin’ Crew at Darrell’s Tavern in Shoreline. Then on Saturday, you've got the dark country sounds of Bat Country with Hounds of the Wild Hunt, Bakelite 78, Jason Webley, and The Mongrel Jews for a full night at Columbia City Theater, while Rob Garza plays Neumos with Nordic Soul and Toast. Finally, in addition to the Father's Day Kids Dance Party, the week ends with Los Headaches and No Tomorrow Boys at 2 Bit Saloon, Golden Gardens with Space Waves and Jetman Jet Team at Chop Suey, and Ian Moore & The Lossy Coils with Llama at Sunset Tavern.
