  • Twin Shadow, aka George Lewis Jr, has shared an outstanding tribute to late rock star Lou Reed, of The Velvet Underground, who passed away on Sunday. Twin Shadow used this week's offering of his "Under the CVRS" series to pay his respects to Reed's outstanding career with a cover of his song "Perfect Day." It's impossible to not be moved by this deep and soulful translation. [CoS]

  • British singer-songwriter James Blake took on Drake's sleek song "Come Thru" from his recently released album, Nothing Was the Same. Blake added his own dark, electric spin on the track and the result is a sharper more brooding version. The latter half of the mix has some heavy beats and crazy synths that will have you anxiously hoping for another Drake/Blake collaboration. [CoS]

  • The Flaming Lips and Tame Impala will release a collaborative EP that will be sold at the shows they will be headlining together this month and next. The EP will feature the bands covering each other and today the Lips have shared their version of Tame Impala's track "Elephants." Check it out. [Pitchfork]
