Los Angeles indie rock duo Girlpool released their third studio album, What Chaos Is Imaginary, last month via Anti-. Our Song of the Day is the record’s title track, a slow burner that sees Cleo Tucker and Harmony Tividad try their hands at something a little different from the material on 2017’s Powerplant and 2015’s Before the World Was Big.

Integrating a full string section, the song starts out minimal with a simple synth chord progression and builds to cinematic heights when the strings hit. Tividad takes the lead vocals on this one, her high soprano soaring and blending perfectly with Tucker’s on the harmony.

Girlpool will be in Seattle to take the Neumos stage on Friday, April 12. The duo has yet to share any videos from What Chaos Is Imaginary but “123” off of Powerplant is a video that bears repeating. Watch it below.
