Austin, Texas singer-songwriter Shakey Graves, aka Alejandro Rose-Garcia, released his fifth record Can’t Wake Up, earlier this month via Dualtone Records. When Rose-Garcia initially announced Can't Wake Up he proclaimed, “Next album. New sound. Sell your suspenders.” While cheeky, the folk artist was also accurate in his allusions towards a new sound for his forthcoming record. Can't Wake Up is miles more dense and lush than his previous stripped-down recordings and early single “Kids These Days" is the best exemplification of this. The track was initially released on The Sleep EP early in the year and is a bright, optimistic, and catchy song. Shakey Graves is currently on tour and will make a stop in Spokane, WA on Sunday, August 26 to play the Knitting Factory. Check out Shakey Graves' 2014 live performance on KEXP below.
