The incredibly difficult to Google Club Night is an Oakland ensemble that takes their influences from a wide range of early aughts bands. Everything from Los Campesinos! to Built To Spill to Destroyer can be found in the band’s eccentric and exuberant work. Formed in 2016, the Josh Bertram-led band is made up of veterans of the Oakland indie rock scene, each bringing a distinct flavor to the group. They’ve only released an EP, 2016’s Hell Ya, and a pair of singles released this fall. One of those singles, “Trance,” is our Song of the Day. It’s the B-side of a split single, with “Mute” on the A-side.
Below, watch the claymation video for Hell Ya ripping math-y track “Shear.”
