Mark Lanegan, of Screaming Trees and Queens Of The Stone Age, and multi-instrumentalist Duke Garwood released their second collaborative album in August titled With Animals. The record follows 2013's Black Pudding. Our Song of the Day is the album’s dark lead single and opening track, “Save Me.”
The writing and recording of With Animals was a transatlantic collaboration with the duo splitting studio time and sharing music online while Garwood resided in London and Lanegan in Los Angeles.“Over the years, we’ve recorded together and apart,” explains Garwood. “This time, I started this record alone, with many animals as company. It flowed, I set to work and out it came. Our music is instinct, there is not much talking about it, just creating. I think that if you are at peace with your work, and feeling it right, it flows, and can feel ‘easy.’ Music isn’t meant to be hard.”
