Time at station:
I started out at KEXP as a volunteer at the beginning of 2006 as a DJ Assistant for Kevin Cole.
Credentials:
I worked at WNYU (89.1FM) for 4 years while attending New York University, graduating in 2004. At WNYU, I started out hosting an AM show and later hosted “The New Afternoon Show” on the FM station. On NAS, I interviewed and had performances by Blonde Redhead, Arab Strap, Ian Svenonius, Pretty Girls Make Graves, and Low. I helped organize WNYU sponsored shows with Luna, Black Dice, Stereolab, Clearlake, MMJ, The Walkmen, Daniel Johnston, Liars, Broken Social Scene, Ratatat, and the Double. During my time at WNYU, I was also Promotions Director, Business Director, and finally General Manager. I oversaw a physical move of the entire station and also helped acquire a new transmitter to boost station signals in the city. In Seattle, I have dj’ed on the online UW radio station, Rainydawg Radio, hosting an electronic show, a local music show, and a variety show. I DJ around town whenever I can, at the Tin Hat, Moe Bar, Lo Fi, Cha Cha… I am now finishing up my doctorate at UW and hoping to get out in one piece, so I can be an official PhDJ.
Becoming a DJ at KEXP is a dream come true!
